Planebender Products Presents This Months RC Pilot of the Month:

"Father Don" Brown

About Me:

I grew up in Northern Indiana and moved to Corpus Christi Texas for two years after graduating high school to work on a shrimp boat and to learn how to surf.  Ended up moving to the Boston area after coming out here to go to Berklee College of Music.  I’ve been in New England ever since, married to my wife Kelley for 26 years and have two children, a 14 year old boy, Jesse, and a 24 year old girl, Jodan, and a two year old grandson, Ryan.

My RC History:
I’ve been flying RC since late 2007 and it all started when my son received an Airhog as a gift from Toy’s R Us….then a Cessna….then an H9 Super Cub. After hours of practice on the simulator I bought a 47" EF YAK 54 on 4 Li-Pos, which was my introduction to power. Now for bigger planes- EF 50cc YAK (hovers, 4 and 8 point rolls), 3 years later came my Comp ARF Extra 260 with DA-85, then a 3M Comp ARF 260 with DA-170. In November 2009 Dave "Planebender" built my 40% Pilot YAK which I took to Joe Nall. Receintly I had Dave build a Pilot 40% Extra with DA-170.

Why I Do This:
Lastly I’d like to say that without the help of the awesome people I’ve met in this hobby, it would have never happened.  For me, the flying has been great, and the friends that I have gotten to know, including all of the FG family, have been even better.  It’s really a pay-it-forward hobby.

Welcome

From the very first time I flew using Canister exhaust I liked the quiet sound, it reminded me of my race car engines. The only problem was the severe "hesitation and load up" I experienced during the low to high transition. All of the canister systems I tried were not 3D friendly- the mid range throttle control forced continual "jockeying" of the stick to achieve the result of an "electric transition feel." With today's cost of Giant Scale Aerobatic Planes you need to have the ultimate confidence in your power source- particularly when you are hovering 6" off the ground.

That’s when I decided to design and develop canisters that would be user friendly for my flying style. It took me one year of testing prototypes to finally arrive at our finished product. And I have to say I am very proud of how they perform!! I let a few friends that fly severe cold and scorching hot weather try the cans out and they were very pleased in the instant difference in throttle transition they felt. So after giving it some thought and taking the advice of my close friends in the RC community I decided to manufacture the “PRO FLOW 3-D CANISTERS”

Pro-Flow users are instantly amazed at how smooth their motor runs and just how "linear" the throttle control feels……………and as a bonus the plane sounds cooler too.

The additional level of precision, by providing positive throttle control, has aided many IMAC Pilots to achieve higher scores AND reduce noise foot print.

Available to suit most all gas engines up to 222cc.
